Snoqualmie Falls

Me & Geno took a trip to Snoqualmie Falls yesterday, about 40 minutes from Seattle. You may recognize the falls from their role in the opening credits of the Twin Peaks series. As you can see, it was GORGEOUS!

official exam date

I'm turning in the form today that has my committee's signatures, saying that my general exam is scheduled for October 12th at 10 am. Assuming I pass, I'll be a PhC (doctoral candidate) on October 13th. yay! Now if I can just get together a brilliant powerpoint presentation....

Let's freaking hope so

"Just as 11 September 2001 changed the American agenda from internal matters to foreign policy and the war on terror, so Katrina is liable to take America back to its internal agenda: dealing with the environment, society, and the gaps between whites and blacks and between rich and poor."
-Nahum Barnea in Israel's Yediot Aharonot

I'm not sure if this link is permanent, but hopefully you can still check out views of Katrina from around the world. It's really interesting to see what the rest of the world has to say about Bush and the US.

LOST LOVE

I went to a group show at the COCA last night. My favorite piece consisted of voicemails left by people who called the above phone number. Go see it!
